That is assuming that the point of public school is to educate. I would say the point is to assimilate. There is very little “education” going on. Lots of indoctrination, assimilation and conformity. Education, not so much.

I agree, and yet I believe that most folks honestly do feel that public schools are good because they’re providing a quality education.
