Men’s Theology Forum

A while back I put up a post asking for suggested baptism resources. That all comes to fruition on Friday with the start of my Church’s Men’s Theology Forum (sorry Ashley, you can’t come).

We’re going to be taking a look at the claims and thoughts of Craedo-Baptists (those who hold that only people who have already made a profession of faith should be baptized). To do that we’ll be deconstructing some arguments put into writing by those holding to believer’s baptism and contrasting those views with our own Westminster lovin’ Presbyterian view.

If you’re interested the forum will be held at the Tacoma Bible Presbyterian church this Friday (the 31st) at 8 p.m. You don’t have to be a member of the church or even a Christian to attend. You do have to be a guy, though. Otherwise the name would be too misleading. Coffee & various fattening baked goods will be served. I hope to see you there!

    Oh, yeah, about that. Not to meddle (foreshadowing that I’m about to), but I’ve been meaning to warn thee:

    Bring your own beans, fo’ sho’. And definitely do a trial run on the coffee pot in the counseling room, if that’s where you’ll be. Or swap it with the one in the kitchen. There’s something funky about the pot upstairs.

    Some people say it’s me. (It’s not.)

    Oh, and word is, watch out for the… dashing?… young fellow with the baby blue cast and wheelchair who’ll be stumbling (possibly swearing) up the back steps of our handicap-friendly building. ;)

    yeah, like i could get the hubby or boy to go….
    i couldnt get hubby to take me to church sunday night.
    ash, too funny, and about that unaccessible church bldg.
    jason, that comment about buying a jug from starbucks, reminds of my house. if i cant make dinner [which is lot of the time lately] and ask jim to do it, we get to go out to dinner, even if there is enough food to feed an army and its all prepped. its just too much to whip up a dinner so off we go. not that i’m complaining, mind you, the commetn just reminding me of that.
    how did it go, BTW? good turn out?

    Good turn out for a first time event. Wide age spectrum (youngest was 18, oldest 60-something). Fruitful conversation. Exactly what Jed & I had hoped for. Prayerfully it will grow from here. I need to twist Tim’s arm & see if he’ll come to this Friday’s forum on the Federal Vision.
